Hello and welcome to Reedy’s Month In Prayer. As a basis for our prayers, we are going through our church’s values. So far, we have prayed through the values of “We Seek” and “We Hope”. Over the next few days, we will pray through the value of “We Care”. By the way, you might be wondering why we have the prefix “We” in front of all our values? It’s because “we” means us exhibiting together these values. It's not just me or you, but together “we” value. And we together value caring for each other. To the churches that met around Galatia, Paul tells them: “Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2 NIV). The law of Christ is love one another. We love one another by carrying or bearing with one another’s burdens. I reckon one of true marks of an authentic Christian community is the genuine love and support of one another. Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we can do better. Let’s pray for the pastoral care ministry of the church.

Welcome back! I trust that you are well. I love this quote on prayer by William Chadwick: “The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but he trembles when we pray”. And so he should tremble. Pray taps into the powerhouse of God. As a church we value hope in God for transformation of lives and we hope to be a positive influence in our church and community. Jesus said about us, “You are the salt of the earth… (14) "You are the light of the world… (16) let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:13-16 NIV). Salt is a preservative. Let’s preserve the truth of God in this secular world. Salt is used to flavour. May our words and deeds add flavour into people’s lives. And light dispels darkness. May we reflect the light of Christ into dark places for His glory. Church, let’s make the devil tremble with our united prayers to be a positive influence in our church and community. Pray that our church and Hillcrest School will be an incredible influence for the Gospel!

Hi there and thanks for sticking with us and praying. Pray makes a difference. I’ve seen it in my own life as Leisl and I have been praying for some breakthroughs in people’s lives and last year we witnessed that – mind you it took a few years of praying for God to breakthrough. In Romans 12:2 Paul tells the church: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2 NIV). As a church we hope for transformation – that God will breakthrough and transforms lives. So many people need to be transformed by the power God – for their minds to be renewed, for the world’s grip on them to be loosened. In united prayer, lets pray for that now. Let’s also pray for transformations to occur in our services in 2022 through the power of the Holy Spirit.
