Reedy House Churches

The Reedy Leadership Team have the vision to establish a series of “House Churches” that would meet weekly during Stage 3 restriction from the Queensland Government. However, this vision may continue after Stage Three.

At each House Church, gathered people will watch the same Sunday sermon, announcements, and testimonies that the people at church would see live.

A recognised House Church is where two or more people (Hebrews 10:25) “gather together” weekly for teaching, prayer, fellowship, and to share communion. This is not only theologically sound “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42 NIV) but is a New Testament pattern, “Greet also the church that meets at their house” (Romans 16:5 NIV; see also 1Corinthians 16:19, Philemon 1:2).

An important emphasis of a Reedy House Church is the “gathering” of two or more people. That is, a house that has invited guests who intentionally gathers for worship, prayer and teaching are considered a House Church. Those who gathered in House Churches understand that this is “Reedy Church” for them. Like Sunday services at Reedy, people will still be encouraged to serve in ministries, give their offerings to Reedy, pray for Reedy’s missionaries and those who aren’t well, become RCBC members, be included in attendance rolls, etc.
