January 13 – We Learn From His Word

Hi there. I trust that you are well and if you are holidaying, I hope you’re having a great time. I like this quote on prayer by Max Lucado: "Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the one who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference”. True, eh! Today and over the next few days we will pray through our Reedy value of “We Learn”. And obviously we learn from His Word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV). John Piper who is a world renown teacher of the bible wrote that he cannot stress enough how our real spiritual helplessness should be accompanied by the daily cry to God that he would sustain and awaken our desire to read his word. That’s something that I need to pray… perhaps you too. Let’s pray that God will sustain and awaken our desire to read His Word throughout 2022.
