January 29 – World Tensions

Welcome to Reedy’s Month in Prayer. Thank you for joining with me and others in united prayer. There’s a lot of tension in the world isn’t there? China, Russia, America, plus the Middle East. Some Christians say Armageddon and Christ’s return isn’t that far away at all. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised as Jesus did say, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Messiah,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumours of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains” (Matthew 24:4-8 NIV). As Christians, not only are we called to be Christ’s light during these dark days, but we are also called to pray. Let’s do that now.
