January 19 – We Grow In Our Faith

Hello and welcome back to Reedy’s Month in Prayer. We are going through Reedy’s Values and starting today for the next few days we are praying through our value of “We Grow”. The term grow is not a passive word rather it's an active word. And one of our values is that we desire to see growth. And the obvious area that we value to see grow is with our faith. In 2 Peter 3:18, Peter wrote, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18 NIV). We are encouraged to grow in our faith. Mediocrity is a problem for we Aussie Christians. Mediocrity is average. Average may be okay when referring to a person’s sleeping, eating, driving or exercising habits, but when we associate it with living a Christian life, average is far from the standard set throughout the pages of the New Testament. Christians who are just average are not going to impact the world. In fact, they are going to be ignored by the world because nothing within them sets them apart. I’m not saying this to be judgmental nor condemning, but as a challenge to all of us to keep growing in our faith. Let’s ask God about this now and also pray that our Life Groups throughout 2022.
