January 25 – Change The Heart

Hi and welcome to Reedy’s Month in Prayer. Tomorrow millions of Aussies will be celebrating Australia Day. Over recent years we have been made aware that for many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples this day is far from a celebration. A wonderful Christian group called Common Grace have a heart for justice which includes campaigning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander justice. As part of this they invite people to watch a special media program called Change The Heart https://www.commongrace.org.au/change_the_heart. This program encourages us as Christians to listen to stories and to pray. In 1 Corinthians Paul reminds us that in the church, “there are many parts, but one body” and goes on to tell us that each part is equally valued and that we should support each other” (1 Corinthians 12:20 NIV). Let’s pray for our first Nation’s People, for reconciliation and healing, and for unity within our nation.
