January 5 – We Seek Dependence on God

Hi friends. Thanks again for joining with me and others in united our voices to God in prayer. To those who are holidays, thanks for joining us. Today’s verse is 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. What a great passage containing wonderful promises. We’ve already discussed in the previous days what seeking God’s face and repentances means. But there’s a key word that helps to unleash God’s power – it’s humility. We are to humble ourselves by depending on God. It’s admitting that we can’t control or change events or issues that concern us, but God can. We depend on Him. When we learn this then the Lord promises in the next verse, “my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered” (2 Chronicles 7:15 NIV). In humility, let’s come before God in prayer asking that our church humbly seeks God for His wisdom and power to be evident in 2022.
